LAND TENURE IN WAIHI.
[B* TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Tuesday. | The secretary of the Waihi citizens' meet- " ing forwarded yesterday to the Hon. J. SlcGowan, Minister for Mines, a petition containing 800 .signatures, requesting the Ministers for Mines and Lands, and the member for the district, and Mr. Warden Bush, to meet the petitioners at Waihi during the recess, to take into consideration the question of getting more satisfactory titles for the business and residence properties of the district. It is anticipated this action will settle the much-vexed question of land tenure in this important centre. Great credit is due to Mr. A. Y. Ross for the energetic manner in which he has fulfilled the responsible mission entrusted to him by the Waihi inhabitants.
