The tender of Messrs. Cleghorn and Rosser (£1127) has been accepted by Mr. Arthur H. White, architect, for the erection of a, brick store in Symonds-street, for Messrs. Robertson Brothers. There were no less than 15 tenders sent in, which shows tho competition which exists at present in the building trade. An American paper says that tho habit of feeding crockory has gained quite a foothold among a good many poultry-keepers, although it is well known to contain more, or less lead in the glazing. Some specimens contain none, others a little, and some a much larger quantity. One lady i) ore who fed it lost halt her hens.
