The cricket season opened here to-day, but the weather was somewhat unfavourable, and tho various pitches wore in anything but good condition, owing to the numerous heavy showers that occurred last night and this morning. Nevertheless there was a very fair attendance of spectators, and the players entered with a good spirit into the game 3 that took place. Two senior matches were played and one junior. In the senior, Foundry scored 97 to Tararu's eight for two wickets. For Foundry, Bucltland 27, James Buclian 16, and Murdoek 14, were the highest scorers, St. Albans A team met St. Albans B team, the former scoring 88 for fivo wickets as against 40 made by the latter. Hindman, in the A team, was tho highest scorer with 27 runs. In the junior match, Tararu 11. scored 51, as against 43 by Foundry 11. For the formor, S. McGrogor and T. McLoan scored 15 and 11 respectively, and for the latter Lawson scored 10 and McDonald nine runs.
