PAEROA-THAMES RAILWAY.

[n TELEGRAPH.—OWN OORREiFONDENT.] Paeroa, Monday. Tie Paeroa-Tbemes Railway works are progressing satisfactorily, and the fine weather of late has been most favourable for pushing on the works in hand. To-day there were fully 45 men employed, under the efficient! superintendence of Mr. T. Shaw, plate-laying, bridge-building, trimming, etc., being in full swing. There were 17 bridges to build between here and Thamee, but three ure now completed, whilst the piles have been driven for the fourth, and the large bridge over the Hikutaia River is in hand. The latter bridge is the largest requiring construction, and will comprise five spans, three of which will be 40 feet in length, one 11 feet, and one 13 feet. A ballasb pit has been acquired at Omahu, and, as won as the bridges are completed and the line laid down to tho quarry, ballasting will be commenced.
