Two thousand Greek troops are approaoliing Prevesa, on the Gulf of Arta, by land. Four Greek gunboats are attacking S;tlakhura,a Tuckish town on the north shore of the Gulf of Arta. The Qreeks repulsed a fresh attack upon Amilipsis. The Greek ironclad Spetdia assisted the flotilla of gunboats inside the Strait in bombarding Prevesa with so milch effect that the town is now in ashes. Two Turkish shore batteries have been silenced, but the third, commanding the town of Arta, is still reply ing to the fire of the fleet. After two days' desperate fichting the Turks captured the whole of the Mazura Pass. The losses on both sides were enor* inous. Furious fighting is going on round tlie Gulf of Artft. Some desperate hand-to-hand fighting between the Turks and the Greeks occurred at Baveni, a town on the nothern frontier. The engagement resulted in the repulse of the Turks. The Greeks are now attacking Vigalia, And have captured dno battery. The Greek forces are also attacking Epirus at several points. Many of the shells tired by the Turkish artillery during the recent battles failed to explode. The Greek irregulars are menacing the Salonica railway, with the view of blocking the arrival of Turkish reinforcement* from Constantinople. Later reports show that the fighting in the vicinity of fiaveni proved disastrous to the Greeks. The Turks eventually repelled the attack on Yigalia, and captured one of the Greek batteries. The Turkish forces are now in turn invading the districts in Epirus held by the Greeks.
