Colonel Porter, of Gisborne, has received the appointment of Government Native Land Purchase agent at Gisborne, and will, with Mr. Wheeler, of the Survey Department, arrange for the completion of tht native land transactions which the Govern ment have entered into in the Poverty Bav district.
