THE BISLEY TEAM. ■ [by telegraph.— association.] Wellington', Monday. Bailstows, of Carterton, has been selected to represent the Wairarapa volunteers in the Eisley team. Mr. Bailstow shot well throughout the recent meeting at Auckland, and finished twelfth for the belt, The ride team which represents New Zealand at the Bisley meeting consists of ten men picked from the whole colony, The selection will probably bo made by Majors Sommerville and Collins, Lieut.-Command-ant Kirk, and Captain Ballinger (Petone Rifle Club). It has been decided that the team of shooting men shall be chosen from the whole colony, and not, as originally suggested, from tho separate districts. Melbourne, April 12. The members of the rifle team to compete at Bisley sailed by the Ophir. The competitions for tho selection of two roprosontativos to accompany tho proposed New Zealand liflo team, to take part in tho Bisloy mooting was concluded yesterday, at the Mount EJon Rifio Range, and resulted in the selection of Sorgeanb Hazard and Gunner Taylor, of the "A" Battery, as the two Auckland members of tho teams, through making tho highest score, 484 (a tie). Tho best range scores were:—2oo yards (kneeling), 48, Webster ; 500 yards, 48, Taylor; 600 yards, 45, Taylor, There woro only eight competitors, the conditions being that the competition should be confined to otliciont volunteers of the corps. Tho result of tho day's competition is not representative of Auckland's best shots, but these should have joined the volunteers, and thus qualified. The following are the total scores :—

The firing took place under the supervision of Lieutenant Cox, of the Victoria Rifles.

The Government have allotted £500 for the New Zealand rifle team of 16 men, which is £31 odd per man, while the oosb of passage, entrance fees, etc.,.will amount to £06 per head. About £150 will thus have to be subscribed by tho public, if tho men selected are to go homo. Each of the competitors is already out of pocket £1 Bs, in taking part in the competitions. MILITARY SPORTS AT QUEEN'S RECORD REIGN CELEBRATION. A meeting of officers of tho Auckland Garrison took placo last ovoning, Dr. Dawson presiding, when it was decided to commemorate the Queen's record reign by sports in the Domain, namely, races in heavy marching order, bayonet and physical drill competitions, bicycle races for both sexes, obstacle race. Thoro will also be a representation of a zareeba, and its attack and defence illustrated. A strong committee was appointed to carry out tho arrangouionts.
