AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING.

The spell pf fine weather with which we have been favoured during the past fortnight aliowa signs of breaking up; but yes-

terday morning proved to be atill favourable for training operations, and there was a good muster at the racecourse during the day. Some interesting work was got through, but nothing bordering ou the sensational was recorded. J. Cliaafe was the one to com-

mence proceedings, by sending St. Paul the best part of a mile and a-nalf on the plough, the ton of St. Leger being assieted alternately on the journey by Pirate and Markinch. St. Paul got over the once round in lm. 585.. which was satisfactory. Dayatav (with a light boy in the saddle) and Armillii were partners iu a strong once round, which the former got over in the same time its that recorded by St. Paul. Daystar, who is in great heart, moved well; but Armilla still displays symptoms of soreness. I'orangi Potae, assisted alternately by the Sharper and Canppus, ran about (i mile and a-quarfcer, finishing fairly well.' Nestor, with a fair weight up, galloped a strong once round, being assisted in the first part by Kegel, and in the last by the two-year-old Blaircarrig, the Cup-winner's time h'Ang within half a second of that recorded by St. Paul and Days tar. Haria and Luira put in a useful gallop over once round, in which the latter appeared to hare the best of it. The two-year-olds, Coronet and Eton, ran a sharp six furlongs, in which the former showed to most advantage. Janet and Miss Emmy galloped the same distance in good style. The jumpers, St. Simon, Kingswood, Levanter, Natation, and Hukatere each put iu strong work. During the morning Mozel, Miss Nelson, and Despised were schooled over the Steeplechase course. All jumped well, though Miss Nelson baulked at the sod fence the first time.
