AQUATICS.

AUCKLAND REGATTA. A general meetiu" of the committee of the Auckland Annual Regatta was held on Wednesday night at the Waitemata Hotel. There was a lull attendance, and Mr. A. H. Nathan presided. The secretary (Mr. C. C. Dacre) announced thatthe receipts amounted to a little over £309, out of which £217 had been paid away in prize money. Some accounts which had been outstanding for some years had also been wiped off, and there was a balance of over £6 in hand. Mr. Nathan expressed great pleasure at the efforts of the committee having been so successful, and moved a cordial vote of thanks to Mr. O. C. Daore for the energetic manuer in which he had worked to make the regatta a success. The motion was unanimously carried, and Mr. Dacre, in returning thanks, asserted that it only required a little combined action of the committee to raise all the funds needed to carry the regatta to a successful issue. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the business firms and private citizens who had contributed to the funds of the regatta by cash and trophies. After a hearty vote of thanks had been passed to Mr. A. H. Nathan for the manner ia which he had carried out the' duties of chairman, the meeting closed. AUCKLAND ROWING OLUB.

The final contest for tho Sculling Handicap of the above club took place on Wednesday evening, and resulted in a fine contest between Baker, Dean, and A. W. Patteiton. The finish was a very close one, Baker only winning by about two feat from Deau, while Patterson was very dose up on the second boat. The trial fours of the club are fixed for to-morrow afternoon.
