FAREWELL TO SIR JOHN HALL. [by tkleqrani.—press asssooiation.]
CiißisTOiioiiCH, Tuosday. The Canterbury A. and P. Association held a meeting to-day, ab which members wished their patron, Sir John Hall, and Lady Hall a safe journey to England, and a quick return, renewed in health. Sir John, in reply, referred to the kindly and courteous co-operation of his colleagues, and the pleasure he found in working for the Association, which, he suggestod, in its work and constitution, set a good oxample to the advocates , of non-party government, olectivo executive, and referendum. He suggestod also that the Association should enlargo its scope by introducing the reading of papers, and making experiments which would benefit the farming community, and for the advantage of farmers throughout the colony. He suggested that an agricultural and pastoral conference should entertain the question of establishing a central national organisation in order to place the greatest industry of tho colony on an equal footing with other industries, and to collect and disseminate useful information,
