EDUCATION STATISTICS.

The education statistics for the year ending December 31 last, for the colony, show that 129,858 children attended the public schools, being an increase of 2558 over the previous year. The average attendance was 81*4. Among the pupils wore 1894 native children, exclusive of those attending the native schools. Tho number of public schools Is 1464, an increase of 54.
