« — [B? telegraph.—press association,) Wellington, Thursday, The Kaipara Harbour is gazetted a fishery under the name of the Kaipara Oyster Fishery. Lionel Izod is gazetted ranger for the Auckland district under the Animals Protection Act, 1880.
Dr. U. T. Smith is appointed Publio Vaccinator for the Mercury Bay district. Piri Matarawhea is appointed assessor of the Validation Court. William K. Borlaso, of Wanganui, is appointed interpreter under the Native Land Court Acts. George Urquhart is gazetted a cadet in the Supreme Court, Auckland. James P. Bennett, Waiheke Island, is gazetted inspector under the Sea Fisheries Act. L. M. Holloway is appointed deputy registrar of deeds at Auokland, vice Thomas Hall.
The Colonial Secretary, Sir James Heotor, Messrs. J. 0. Martin, S.M., VV. R. Quick, and John Rots, of Wellington, era gazetted a board for the purpose of considering and reporting upon applications for awards under the Order-in-Council instituting a decorative distinction to be conferred on persons who have distinguished themselves in saving or attempting to savo human life, or by other brave deeds.
