MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Sterling (Karangahake, May s).—Continuing to cut ribs of quartz varying in width from a few inches to 18 inches, in which I can get prospects of gold. This afternoon tapped quartz iu the bottom of the drive and am pushiug forward the level in order to ascertain its thickness and value. Owing to the fact that I have not cut through the reef formation I think it better to push forward the crosscut until the true country rock is met. I had a visit from Messrs. Pascoe and Myers during the week, and after breaking mid testing numerous samples from the reef, expressed themselves as pleased with the prospects obtained. Mr. Pascoo broke several of the samples himself, in all of which he obtained excellent results. He also carried away a general sample broken from about ten feet in width for assay British Emfike (VVaiwkauri, May 4).— The country is still of the same class as hitherto, interspersed with small leaders ; neanly all these leaders carry traces of gold in them when tested.

Adelaide (Thames, May 4.)— There appears to bo a better class of country making in the bottom of the shaft. Tributers: McGinn and party crushed 11 loads of quartz for the return of lloz ldwt melted gold. Crescent (Karangahake, May Orient section: The country is all that can be desired. We are just about the distance we ought to cut the reef that is shown on the surface.

Golden Fleeob (Karangahake, May 4).— We have out into a body of quarts crossing the face.
