THE BUNNERTON RELIEF FUND.

Amongst other subscriptions received yesterday by the Mayor was the collections made at the Remuera Easter Encampent on Easter Sunday. Mr. Holland informs us that already upwards of £500 have come through his hands and been banked by him. This does not include other subscriptions, nor docs it account for ail the lists issued by His Worship, as there are several which have not yet been returned. The Mayor wishes to acknowledge, on behalf of the Brunnerton Relief Fund:— I'hctnix Boot Factory, £5; Maoris of Otorohanga (per Bishop Cowic), £'2 -Is (id ; children Mangakaramea School, £2 'M Id; American Tobacco Company of New Zealand. £10 10s; Easter Encampment (Remueni), £8 7s 7d; Elirenfried Bros', employees, £612s fid; Lion Boot Factory employees, £3 Is. Mr. Roberts, of the Terminus Hotel, Onehunga, collected the sum of 9s oil Saturday night, and forwarded the same, by Mr. W. R. Wills, yesterday, to the Bnuniertou Relief Fund.

[BY telegraph.—OWN correspondent.) Taijranoa, Monday. On Thursday next a grand demonstration is to take place, and a special football match in aid of the Brunnerton Relief Fund. So far private subscriptions are being liberally contributed, and at the end of the demonstration His Worship the Mayor will make a statement of what the gross proceeds of contributions and demonstration amount to.

Christciidroii, Monday. At the Friendly Societies' gathering yesterday in aid of the Brumier fund, a sum of £23 was collected. A resolution was carried, "That it be a recommendation to tho Government that the first issue of the Humane Society's medal be made to the Hon. R. J. Seddon, and tho miners who risked their lives in the endeavour to rescue the entombed men."

A ROYAL COMMISSION, Wellington, Monday. The Government has appointed » Royal Commission to enquire into the Bruuner disaster. Judge Ward, Sir J. Hector, a certificated coal mine manager, and a practical working coal miner will form the Commission.
