Wellington, Monday. The adjourned animal general meeting of the shareholders of the New Zoaland Timos Company was held to-day. Tho report and balance-shoot was unanimously adopted without much discussion. A resolution was carried reducing the numbor of directors from seven to fivo, and increasing the qualification of a director from tho ownership of ten paid-up shares to the ownership of 25 paid-up shares. ' Mr. Arthur Warburton, managing director, handed in his resignation. A resolution of sympathy and condolence with the family of the late Mr. E. T. Gillon was carried. The general managor states that tho action of tho meeting was part of the reorganisation determined on some tiuio ago. An extraordinary general mooting will be held on 7th May, when the now board will be elected, and the probability is, so the manager states, that five of the present directorate will be re-elected. The question of tho removal of Mrs. Morrison's license from Rotorua to Paeroa, dospite tho objection raised by the Government, is before the law officers of the Crown, and if their decision is favourable, the Government intend to take action to annul tho transfer. CiiKiSTOHURCH, Monday. A man namod Kobinson, alleged to bo concerned in the fire at Windsor, on Saturday, was arrested at Yaldhursb this afternoon. Mr. W. W. Tanner, M.H.R. for Avon, addressed his constituents to-night. He received a vote of thanks and confidence. Ddnedin , , Monday. A man named James O'Knne has been committed for trial at Qiioonsfcown, on a charge of horse-stealing. Mr. J. J. Ramsay announces that he will contesD Waihemo seat) ad the general election. Mr. J. C. Buckland, who was mentioned for the Taieri seat, has decided not to stand.
