Paris, April 3. M. Bourgeois, the French Premier, addressing the Chamber of Deputies, said that Egypt was an integral part of the Ottoman Empire, and the Powers were pledged to maintain it. He feared the British expedition to the Soudan meant prolonged occupation, and being desirous of maintaining their rights, the Powers together had suggested a conference to settle tho conditions of the future control. Though the Chamber carried a vote of confidence in the Premier, 110 fresh light was thrown on the Egyptian question, London, April 3. The British press discredits the rumour that negotiations are proceeding to hold a conference on the Egyptian question.
