THE OPORIAO ESTATE.

[AT TELEGRAPH.— own correspondent. J Wellington, Tuesday. ■ A telegram from Taur.mga appeared in the Herald a few days ago, stating that the plans and pamphlets in connection with tho Balo of the Oporiao estate at W'hakatane estate bad not thon reached Tuuranga. I have made inquiries at the Lands Department, and rind that 1500 copies of tho pamphlet and 300 large maps of the estate have been distributed, principally in Auckland and in the Bay ol Plenty district. A number of copies have been sent to the postmaster at Tauranga, with instructions to distribute them. Copies have also been forwarded to the principal railway stations and Te Aroha. The Chief Surveyor (Mr. Muellhr) is in the Whakatano district, making arrangements, among other things, for the proper distribution of the pamphlets. Tills will glvo about 28 days before the day of sale for circulation of the plans, and that time is considered ample by the department. The sale takes place on the 12th February.
