THE RECENT LICENSING ELECTIONS.
[by telegraph.— press association. 1 Wellington, Friday. The Registrar of Electors has received instructions from the Government to strike off the roll those who did nob vote at the licensing election. Aboub 6000 names will be struck off. Later. The Premier denies that the Registrar of Electors acted under instructions from the Government in striking all non-voters at the licensing election off the city electoral roll. Invbrcargill, Friday. At the Invercargill licensing election petition inquiry to-day the evidence' for respondents was to the effect that, although more than the stipulated number of persons were occasionally in the booths, no interference with the voters in 1 the inner compartments was permitted, and that the temporary arrangements made to overtake the rush of voters were such that one could overlook the voting papers. The evidence is finished and the counsel will address the Court to-morrow.
