INVERCARGILL LICENSING PETITION.
(BY telegraph.—press association.] Invkkcaroill, Thursday. The Invercargill Licensing Election petition inquiry was continued to-day, when the petitioner's case was closed. There is nothing extraordinary in the evidence given, and counsel for the respondents admit thab there were irregularities of a minor character, due to the fact that it was the first election of the kind, and that an under-estimate of the necessities of the work involved had been made. The inquiry will be resumed to-morrow.
