VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
•THE EASTER ENCAMPMENT. This officer commanding the district (Col. Dignan) has selected a site for the Volunteer camp, which is to be held at Easter in a large paddock kindly given by Messrs. Rao and Leonard, adjoining the racecourse at Otahuhu. There is plenty of open ground for both cavalry ana infantry drill. Intimation has been received from the Defence Office regarding the allowances, which are to be similar to those ot last year, viz., 2a 6i per diem per man for four days for mounted and foot volunteers, and an allowance of Is 6d per day as forage for mounted corps and staff officers. The officers of the various corps in both town and country will meet the offioer commanding the district to-day (Friday) at three o'otock at the drill shed to arrange matters of detail.
