NEWS FROM MASHONALAND.
A letter which appears in tie London Observer on July 19, dated fro Mashonaland, and signed " Pioneer," gves an account of the condition of affairs h tho erritories of the British South Africa Company the reverse of satisfactory. A:cording to the writer the police and pimeers were, almost starved, while owing to insufficient supply of boots, many of them lad to work barefooted. Illnesses and de.at.is have been frequent, and tho country is declared to be full of graves. Between forly and fifty white men have died on the lundi River. Tho country is declared to be fever-haunted, and great difficulty is said to bi experienced in many parts in obtaining woid or water. The writer concludes by irking that everyone is distrusted with tin country and tho abominable mismanagement of the company- '
