Congress will discuss the action of the Chilian troops in entering San Juan.
Washington, May IS.
A quantity of munitions of war, which were intended to be/shipped to Valparaiso for the use of the rebels, has been seized by the authorities.
The report that the proposed mediation between the Chilian belligerents had ended in failure is premature. France, Brazil, and the/United States are continuing their efforts to bring about a peaceful settlement by means of arbitration, and they are confident of success. t
Berlin, May 13. Three German warships have '.f_ been despatched to Chilian waters.
