The first meeting of the Y. M.C.A. Literary and Debating Society will be held this evening tit half-past, seven, when the programme will be an elocutionary one. Those who desire to 'become members are 'requested to meet before that hour. Endeavours are being made to get up a strong society, and to induce the young men belonging to the institution and others to spend their winter evenings in this pleasant and instructive way. ; There; is no better educational, training for a. young man than' membership of a well-conducted literary and debating society.
