THE TE AROHA ELECTION PETITION.

[by telegraph.— reporter.] Tk Aroha, Tuesday. Chief Justice Prendkrqast and his private secretary (Mr. Wallace) arrived by coach this morning to preside at the Te Aroha election petition, which opens at ten tomorrow. Judge.Conolly, Secretary Bruce, and Mr. H. (J. Brewer, Registrar, arrived from Auckland by the afternoon train. The petitioner, Colonel Fraser, arrived by the same train. Mr. E. Hesketh and Mr. Clayton (who appear for the petitioner) arrived yesterday, and Mr. Theo. Cooper and Mr. Buddie (who appear for Mr. Allen) joined the train at Yvaihou. A great deal of local interest is manifested in the proceedings.
