Saturday, the 12th instant, turned out as nice a day as could be wished for the athletic sports ; and though the attendance was not so large as at the summer meeting, yet there was a. large concourse of both races in holiday attire on the beach, and occupying seats (forms) which had been provided on the bank contiguous. After j people have danced all night, they cannot be i very "lit" for renewed exertion next day of ! he violent kind involved in athletic compels tition. 1 ndced, some of our athletes In.ike.l [ litter for " Blanket. Altogether we have had a pleasant holiday, and so ends the Waipiro Station winter sports and my letter.— [Own Correspondent.] •
