INTERVIEW WITH LORD KNUTSFORD. CENSURED FOR INDISCRETION, HIS APPOINTMENT TO BE CANCELLED. OPINIONS OF THE PROVINCIAL PRESS. London, November 22. Loud Knutsford, in the course of a protracted interview with Sir H. A. Blake, censured the latter for allowing a representative of the Central News Agency to interview Mm. The Secretary for the Colonies pointed out that this action had increased the difficulty of , the Government in arranging a satisfactory understanding. Sir H. A. Blake left impressed with the belief that his appointment would be cancelled. Subsequently Sir A. Blyth, AgentGeneral for South Australia, and Lord Knutsford had a long conference. It is expected that the Cabinet will come to a final decision on Saturday. The provincial Press strongly support Sir T. Mcllwraith's attitude over the question of the new Governor. There is a consensus of opinion that Sir H. A. Blake's appointment will be cancelled. The letter has attracted much attention. In the House of Commons Mr. Edwin J. DeLisle, M.P. for Loughborough, has given notice of his intention to move for the appointment of a committee to consider the conditions under which colonial Governors are appointed.
