[BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Thursday. At the Baptist Union to-day the secretary read the completed statistics of past year's work as follows; —lncreases by baptism, 137; transfer, 70; renewal,?; visitation, '27 : total, '241. Decrease by transfer, 51 ; withdrawn, 10; revision of roll, 68; discipline, I'2 ; death, '21 : total, 147 ; showing an increase of 84 for the year. The total number of members in communion with churches is now 2778. There are throughout the colony (iS local preachers, with 23 preaching stations. The Sunday-school return showed the number of teachers to be: Females, '245; males, "244: total, 489. Scholars : Female, 2543 ; male, '2137 : total, 4680, as against 4637 last year, an increase of 43, ft was decided to hold the next annual Conference in Dunedin.
