THE GISBORNE HARBOUR WORKS.
RESULT OF THE POLL.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Gisborne, Thursday, The harbour poll so far shows a return of 590 votes for proceeding with tho works, representing in value £815,000. According to the Act tho proposal has to be carried both in number and value. There is a majority in value of £115,000, and in number of 125, so that the proposal is carried, and the construction of the harbour works will proceed immediately. Only'one return has yet to come in. The greatest enthusiasm is felt at the result.
