TERRIBLE ACCIDENT IN AMERICA.
COLLAPSE OF A PLATFOBM. * TWENTY PERSONS KILLED. NARROW ESCAPE OF AN ARCHBISHOP. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New York, October 9. A shocking occurrence happened at Pennsylvania during the progress of p. ceremony at the Catholic church there. A platform on which an immense number of people were assembled, collapsed with the tremendous weight, and a dreadful scene followed. Over one hundred people were injured, twenty-three fatally. Archbishop Ryan narrowly escaped being killed.
