EVICTIONS IN IRELAND.
[PRESS association.] London, September 2. One hundred and fifty soldiers and two hundred police had to be employed in evicting tenants upon the Clanricarde estate. Desperate fighting took place on the roofs of houses, the police using their swords and bayonets and the defenders stones. Thirty-one arrests were made during the proceedings.
