MINING EXHIBITS FOR MELBOURNE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Thursday. Mr. George Wilson, the Mining Inspector, received a telegram from Coromandel to-day, to the effect that claim-holders there would not be prepared to forward quartz exhibits to the Melbourne Exhibition unless the Government guaranteed that the same be returned or the value in cash, Mr. Wilson has telegraphed to Wellington for instructions.
