A FAULTY COMMITMENT WARRANT.

[by TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. In the Banco Court to-day, the case of Charles Henry, of Feilding, was heard. Henry had been sentenced to three months' imprisonment in the Wellington gaol for offences against the Bankruptcy Act, and his counsel applied for a writ of habeas corpus on the grounds that the warrant of commitment did not state which gaol, there being two gaols in Wellington. The prisoner was discharged on the ground the warrant did not specify the gaol.
