The only business to be dealt with was an application from Mr. G. Brown for a renewal of his license for the Tuakau Family Hotel. The police report read by the chairman was a most satisfactory one. Mr. A. Brown commented on this, and moved that the renewal be granted. Mr. Kinraford regretted Mr. Collins, who had lived in Tuakau, and who should know Tetter than he did whether the house was required, was not present. He could not conscientiously second the motion. He suggested that perhaps it would be better to adjourn the meeting for a few days, whereat the licensee, knowing that Mr. Ewin" was absent from the district, undertook, ii they would adjourn for an hour, to get Mr. Collins. At the expiration of that time, this gentleman was present, and seconded Mr. Brown's motion, which was carried.[Own Correspondent, June 6.]
