TO THE EDITOR. Sir*—Allow me to add my protest to that which appeared in your paper iast week, against tho musical tubes in the tower of our Public Library. In a library
for students, and not for show, quiet is the great essential. Imagine an orchestra in the British library, or a band patrolling the quadrangle of Oxford The unavoidable noises of the city are sufficiently distracting.—l am, &c, Common Sense.
