Perth (W.A.), April 23. The Government have accepted proposals of the contractors x>f the Albany and Beverley railway to connect the colony with India by a submarine cable.
Messrs Millar Brothers, whose proposals to lay a submarine cable connecting the Western Australian telegraph eystem with that of the Indian Government, have been accepted, stipulate to be allowed the sole right to construct and woEk the cable, and a rebate of 25 per cent, on ordinary rates on all messages passing orer the West Australian wires between Europe and Eastern colonies. They are prepared to carry out? the undertaking within two years and a-half from date of the concessions being granted.
