WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
AN UNPOPULAR GOVERNOR.
[press association.]
Perth, April 23. The Legislative Council has been prorogued. On Friday the Governor absolutely refused to sanction the Bunbury Railway, although it was unanimously carried on a message to the Governor. He pictured a gloomy state of things in regard to the financial affairs of the colony. A public meeting was held to-day to discuss the position, as it is considered the Governor is doing his utmost against the colony out of spite for the action the public took against him in reference to the interdiction of the Chief Justice.
