THE POWERS OF RACING CLUBS.

[PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Melbourne, April 19. Volger, a bookmaker, who was forcibly ejected from the course at the last meeting, has recovered £25 damages and costs, against the Victorian Amateur Turf Club. He claimed £500 damages. The judge in awarding damages said that the club had no power to eject the plaintiff, who refused to abstain from betting and was therefore ejected by force. TAKAPUNA AUTUMN MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Plumpton Coursing Company will be held this evening at the Commercial Hotel, to receive the directors' report, elect directors, and transact such other business as may arise.
