THE DUNEDIN UNEMPLOYED.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Thursday. A deputation of about 200 working men waited on the Premier this morning, and expressed a hope that the Government would provide work for them. They said the condition of affairs here was very bad, many families being on tho border of starvation. They were willing to take work in town or country. The Premier said he would look into the matter and see what could be done, but the principle laid down by the Government was, that all local charities should be thrown on local bodios, unless the case was so desperate that local bodies could not cope with it. If that was the case in Dunedin, the Government would undoubtedly have to do something.
