PICTURESQUE ATLAS OF AUSTRALASIA.
We have received from Mr. W. C. Dennes Nos. '21 and 22 of the Picturesque Atlas of Australasia. Nothing more emphatic can be said than that these numbers aro as superb in regard to letterpress and engravings as have been their predecessors. No. '21 contains the description of Brisbane, which is fully dealt with. Then we have Ipswich and vicinity, then northward from Moreton Bay to Maryborough ; then, proceeding still north, we are told of Rockhampton, and the Mount Morgan mine. We have then an account of the sugar industry of North Queensland, of Charters Towers, Cairns, and Cook town. Cape York Peninsula, the Gulf of Carpentaria, and Thursday Island are then dealt with. At the conclusion of Part 22 we commence the historical sketch of South Australia. The following are the principal illustrations in these two parts — Pearl Fishery, Torres Strait; Parliament House, Brisbane ; Brisbane-street, Ipswich ; Gympio; Maryborough ; the Bridge, Rockhampton ; Mount Morgan Goldmine ; Ilargraves Discovering Gold ; Sugar Plantations near Mackay ; Charters Towers, from the Day Dawn Claim ; the Barron Falls, near Cairns; Charlotte-street, Cooktown ; the British Residency, Thursday Island.
