He strongly supported the Irish Crimes Bill and Lands Bills proposed by the Government. Hβ spoke in justification of his resignation of his seat in the Ministry, and declared that! he would continue to insist upon economy in the military and naval departments, without, however, impairing the efficiency of the defences of the Empire. IPE3SS ASSOCIATION.] London, April 3. Lord Churchill, speaking at South Paddingfcon, announced his concurrence with the Government policy towards Ireland, and in other important matters. He was, however, unable to defend the wasteful expenditure on the army and navy, and claimed that a million and ahalf might easily be saved. The infusion of Liberals in the Cabinet was a great advantage. He ridiculed the idea that he resigned through persona , ■ ambition.
