THE LAWN TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
» . The tournament for Dr. Posnett's Cup was continued at tho Government House grounds yesterday afternoon. The match was between Mr. W. K. Barton and Mr. E. P. Hudson, two of Auckland's best men. Considerable interest was evinced in the play, there being a large attendance, especially of ladies. Mr. Hudson won the first set by six games to four. He was equally successful in the second, which was a love set. - The best play was in the third set, when Mr. Barton was in better form, and met the hard hitting of his doughty little opponent with steady and consistent strokes, and won the set by a bare game. Mr. Hudson was irresistible in the fourth set, and won comfortably by 6 eames to 2. His seta ran as follows :~6-4, 6-0, 5-6, 6—2. The final match for tfie trophy will be between Messrs. Hudson and Ridings, and will take place tomorrow (Friday), and not to-day as an* nounced,
