[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN , CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Monday. WORKMAN'S WAGES BILL. Mb. Guinness has given notice to move the following amendment in the Workman's Wages Bill:—The master or employer of a servant or workman, within two clear daye, exclusive of any Sunday or public holiday, after Buoh servant or workman lawfully ceased to be in the service of such master or employer, shall pay the full amount of wages due to suoh servant or workman; (2) in the event of the servant or workman's wages or any part thereof not being paid as in the preceding section mentioned then unless the delay ie due to the act or default of the servant or workman, or to any other cause not being the set or default of the servant or workman, or to any reasonable dispute as to liability, or to any other cause not being the act or default of the employer, or the servant or workman, shall continue to run and be payable until the time of final payment or settlement thereof.. MILITARY CLAIMS'. The Hon. Mr. Tole presented a petition to-day from Michael Collins, formerly a rifle volunteer and a captain of the constabulary, who served in Poverty Bay during the disturbances by To Kooti ia 1868. The petitioner prayed for relief. NGAPUHI. Sir G. Grey presented a petition from Tiraru Kukupu. respecting claims to the Tancihua (15,600 acres) and Pekiwakine blocks (11,000 acres), in the Whangarei district. LAND CLAIM. Mr. T. Thompson presented a petition from David Grace claiming land for military services, SIR G. GREY AND THE REPRESENTATION BILL. Sir G. Grey has given notice to move, on going into committee on the Representation Bill, a clause to the effect that no elector shall be allowed to vote in more than two electorates, and before any person can vote he shall have to stato whether he has already voted in more than one electorate. For giving; a false reply any person shall be liable to twelve months' imprisonment. PAYMENTS TO MEMBERS. Lvlr. Hobbs this evening, without notice, asked when the papers which he moved for on the 19th May, in reference to the amounts paid to members of the Legislature by any department of publio service, for services or otherwise, will be laid on the table ? The Premier stated he would make inquiries on the oubject. PURCHASE OF BRANCH LINES. The Pnblic Accounts Committee will to* morrow resume the inquiry oti the purchase of various small branch lines which are offered to the Government. MAORI ELECTORS. Mr. Dargaville gave notice to move this evening that a return be laid before this House, showing the number of names of aboriginal natives on the electoral rolls of the colony, and showing separately the number in each electoral district. Mr. Dargaville informs me that the object of the return is to place before the House the full details of Maoris, as distributed through the various electorates, in case any question may arise on the discussion of the Representation Bill, of amalgamating Maori and European electorates, in which case the Maoris, whereever prominent, would be in a position to elect their own member.
