RESULT OF THE POLL. [by telegraph.—prkss association.l Wellington, Monday. This evening the result ot the poll on the Government Insurance Association resolutions was declared. On Mr. Bell's reaolution, "That it was advisable that this association should be returned to the charge of the Government," the numbers were given as follows : For, 3183; against, 1508. On Mr. Bell's alternative motion, that the Board should be reduced to six members, of whom three should be elected, and the other three should be the Solicitor-General, the Secretary to the Treasury, either the Public Trustee or the Commissioner of Property Tax, three to be a quorum if the chairmau be not present, etc.," the voting was : For, 514 ; against, 3790. On Mr. Fisher's motions: "(1) That tho Central Board be reconstituted, and that it consist of seven members, four to be elected by the policyholders, and three to be nominated by the Government, the three nominated members not to be officers of the Government; (2) that the board so reconstituted shall elect its own chairman ; (3) that the honorarium be fixed at £100 tor each member of the board, except the chairman of directors, who shall recive £300 perannum.the voting was : F0r,1717; against, 2680. Several votiug papers were informal in consequence of policyholders either voting in the affirmative for the whole three resolutions, or voting in the negative for the three. The total number of voting papers was 5470. The following was the voting of the various districts on Mr. Bell's first resolution :—
