MELANCHOLY DROWNING AC CI DENT.
[by telegraph.—PßESS association.] Inyercar#ill, Monday. On Saturday three brothers named Kidd and a young man named Gorman were bathing in the Makarawea River, near Forest Hill. John Kidd pot out of his depth in a deep pool, and his brother Henry and Gorman went to his assistance. They all got into a dangorous position, and Charles Kidd tried to save them. He extended a long stick, which they caught, but Henry Kidd, aged 27, was unabffe to retain his hold, and was drowned. The others were got ashore all right.
