THE TARANAKI BUSH FIRES.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Plymodth, Monday. Messrs. Robinson and R. Bayley, who went over the district ravaged by fire, have returned to town. In a report publishod by the latter, the damage is not estimated at over £4000, and this includes houses which were insured, cattle which are daily returning, log fences which were only put up to burn, and paddocks of grass in which the grans is already springing up. Tho whole matter is being thoroughly investigated here by competent persons, and when finished a report will bo published of how tho money is distributed. The amount of subscriptions received here up to date is £820, including Ssrgood, Ewen, and Co.'s, Auckland, £5 5s Tho above account does not include the Wellington Post's £100, or that received at Wanganui and Marton.
