TO THK EDITOR. Sir,—lt is sincerely to be hoped that, at thq eleventh hour, our worthy Mayor will be frustrated in his mad project of putting the building for the Preo Library on the proposed site. It will just be another muddle, like the dock fiasco. I cannot conceive how some of our new members of Council can allow themselves to be led by the nose by one or two old fogies. Let any unprejudiced man examine the Mayor's site and the other proposed site, between Boweustreet and Victoria-quadrant, and he cannot fail to see the vast superiority of the latter over the former. .Safety from fire, plenty of room for extension, and comeatability.—l am, &0., A Lover of Beacty. P.S.—ln tho Mayor's site the building would be swarmed with rats from Crowther's stables.
