ACCIDENTS AT THE RACE MEETINGS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I think His Worship the Mayor is to be commended for hi& recommendation to the Auckland Racing Club to have a stretcher always on the ground at race times ; but unfortunately he does uot go far enough. My recommendation is that tho race committee ought always to have a sparo coffin or two on the ground, for a race meeting scarcely ever takes place in this province where persons are not either killed or very badly bruised at the steeplechase and hurdle races. —I am, &c., < W.
