ADELAIDE MARKET, Adelaide, January 9. Wheat is quoted at 3s6dto 3s 7d. The market is quiet and easier. There is no enquiry. There is a poor enquiry for flour : town brands are worth £8 5s to £8 10s; country ditto, £7 5$ to £7 lCs. MELBOURNF WOOL SALT!??. Melbourne, January 8. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their usual weekly wool sale to-day, when a fairly representative catalogue of 1700 bales was submitted. There was a large attendance of buyers, and a brisk competition was experienced, especially for good qualities. Prices generally were well maintained. The principal feature of the sale was Gibson and Son's clip from some Tasmanian prize sheep, the price of which ranged to 16d, while the whole clip, including locks and pieces, averaged 12£ d, the highest price yet obtained in Melbourne this season, and fully a penny higher than any other clip sold in grease. Some other parcels were sold at satisfactory prices. Fine greasy cross-bred and scoured Merinos are still in good demand, and the latter is realising 20d.
