Imperial. A winze commenced long ago on No. 1 reef at No. 1 level, and sunk 40 feet, has been resumed. The block overhead yielded excellent dirt. Waiorongomai, Thursday. Mr. George Beeson has been appointed clerk of the County tramways, vice Mr. Henry Buttle, resigned. No quartz has come to hand at the battery yet, nor will tkere be any to come from the mines probably before Monday next, when the New Find will likely make a start with 10 head, and the Colonist with another 10 head.

Saxon.—The manager reports Driving has been commenced on No. 2 reef westward at No. 5 level, but there has been no quartz broken down here yet. The water is running away nicely in the cracks in this drive now. I have four men breaking out quartz on No. 1 lode. The reef looku well. Colours of gold are occasionally being seen in the stone. There is about 16 loads of quartz on hand, and 1 intend to commence crushing the beginning of next week.
