DRAUGHTS TOURNAMENT.

[BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Donedin, Thursday. A TOURNAMENT for the draughts championship of the Australasian colonies was begun to-day. There are fourteen competitors. There is only one representative from Australia, a Sydney player, though five or six were expected. The following are the competitors : —Dr. Hay (Dunedin), W. B. Uodd (Mount Somers), G. Cunningham (Port Molyneaux), H. Henderson (Auckland), A. S. Cameron (Dunedin), A. Raeside (Icvercargill), N. Mcllwick (Invercargill), T. Reid (Sydney), H. Harris (Invercargill), W. 0. Duthie (High Cliff), W. Bell (Dunedin), W. Moir (Port Chalmers), H. Montgomery (Port Chalmers), J. Little (Christchurch). The contest is expected to last over a week.
